Dr. Chelsea's Story

My story began with the birth of my first son.

I was already a physical therapist at this point with some training in pelvic floor work but not currently practicing in the specialty. We had a tough apartment home birth experience. It was a long labor, but it all made sense when he was born a hefty 9 pounds, 8 oz baby boy. As a PT, I had falsely assumed I would be immune to impairment or pelvic floor dysfunction. I was soon proven very wrong, as I suffered for six months with chronic pelvic pain and a laundry list of pelvic floor issues.

Pelvic Physical Therapy First Visit

50-60 Minutes

The Evaluation is the opportunity to go through your pelvic health history and evaluate your pelvic floor. Typically, exams are internal as that is the gold standard for understanding how your pelvic floor is functioning; however, much can be done to help you through only an external exam if preferred. Because the pelvis is the center of the body, many other areas of the body will be assessed based off of your symptoms. With my findings, a unique, individualized plan of care will be tailored for you to achieve your goals.

Kind Words from Clients

Chelsea was such a blessing in my journey as a first time mommy! My doctor told me that the pain that I was experiencing was “normal” after my labor and emergency c-section. I’m so glad I did not listen to this advice and looked for help! Chelsea is so kind and compassionate, and I am so happy to be PAIN-FREE from my treatment plan!
